The BVCH Auxiliary, a non-profit organization, was established 34 years ago, prior to the opening of the Hospital. Today, the Auxiliary provides thousands of hours of volunteer service, the operation of a Hospital Gift Shop, donations of equipment and patient amenities, arrangements for a chaplain, and a memorial wall.
Purpose
The Auxiliary’s purpose is to serve the patients and residents of the Hospital through direct services and provision of other support services to enhance patient care and comfort, and to strengthen the public relations of the hospital.
Membership
Current members total nearly 200 people, with two types of membership (active and associate). Anyone can become an associate member, call and ask how!
Active Members
¨ Staff the front information desk, keep order and give information and assistance in the emergency waiting room on weekends and holidays.
¨ Manage and staff the Hospital Gift Shop.
¨ Assist in the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) with crafts, games, meal time, outings, candlelight dinners, birthday parties, walking and pushing wheelchairs. Members talk to, read to and visit with the residents
¨ Assist in the business office, medical records and with mailings.
¨ Serve the community by staffing the annual health fair and assisting with flu immunizations and blood drives.
¨ Work and plan fundraising events such as a fall rummage sale, a Christmas boutique, and bake sales
Associate Members – Do not provide direct services but offer support by:
¨ Paying annual associate membership dues.
¨ Supporting the Hospital Gift Shop.
¨ Making donations for specific fund raising campaigns.
¨ Supporting fundraising events.
The Hospital Gift Shop is Open Monday through Saturday From 9:00am to 4:00pm
